Bahrain team loses it’s first match in the opening of the Billie Jean King Cup

The qualifying matches for the third Asian Group of the Billie Jean King Cup tennis tournament for women began yesterday, Wednesday. The matches are held at the Bahrain Tennis Federation at the University of Bahrain Polytechnic in Isa Town.

The Bahrain team started their journey in the tournament with a match against the Maldives team, where our team lost this match with a score of 3-0 in the framework of Group 4. Hajar Zaidan, the Bahraini player, lost to the Maldivian player Lian Shamim with a score of 6-1 and 6-2 in the first singles match. In the second singles match, Salma Faraj Allah, the Bahraini player, lost to the Maldivian player Ara Asal Azzam with a score of 6-1 and 6-0. In the doubles match, the Maldivian players Ara Azzam and Lian Shamim defeated the Bahraini players Salma Faraj Allah and Hajar Zaidan with a score of 6-1 and 6-0.

In Group 1, the Saudi Arabian team defeated their counterpart, the Iraqi team, with a score of 3-0. The Saudi player Dania Al Zaher won against the Iraqi player Lara Hassan in the first singles match with a score of 6-3 and 6-1. Yara Al-Hakbani from Saudi Arabia confirmed her country’s victory in the match by defeating the Iraqi player Zalal Khalil with a score of 6-0 and 6-0. The Saudi doubles team, consisting of Yara Al-Hakbani and Dania Al Zaher, concluded the match with a win against the Iraqi doubles team, Alaa Abdul Razzaq and Nora Adel, with a score of 6-1 and 6-0.

In the matches of Group 2, the Qatari team defeated their counterpart, the Brunei team, with a score of 3-0. The Qatari player Hind Al-Mudhahka led her team to victory by defeating the Bruneian player with a score of 6-1 and 6-2. Her teammate, Mubarak Al-Naimi, also won against the Bruneian player Gia Hui with a score of 6-0 and 6-2. In the doubles match, the Qatari duo, Safiya Al Thani and Khadija Guesmi, defeated the Bruneian players Ming Rui and Adriana Sim with a score of 6-3 and 6-1.

In Group 3, Kyrgyzstan defeated their opponent, Bhutan, with a score of 3-0. The Kyrgyz player Vladislava gave her team the lead by defeating the Bhutanese player Sonam Choki with a score of 6-0 and 6-0. Arina Solomatina from Kyrgyzstan confirmed her country’s victory by defeating the Bhutanese player 6-0 and 6-1. In the doubles match, the Kyrgyz duo, Savina and Arina, managed to defeat the Bhutanese players Tandin Dorji and Tenzin Dorji with a score of 6-1 and 6-0.

Nepal also won against Tajikistan with a score of 3-0. The Nepali player Mahika Rana won against the Tajik player Malika Rahimova with a score of 6-0 and 6-0. Abhilasha from Nepal also defeated the Tajik player Yousman Salimova with a score of 6-0 and 6-0. The Nepali players Rayana and Sonera succeeded in winning against the Tajik players Fazila Muradova and Malika Rahimova with a score of 6-0 and 6-0.
